Who are you? Ben Bartlett or “The Booner”


When were you born and where are you from? I was born in Seattle Washington, but I’ve been living 2 hours north in Anacortes Washington since I was 3. 


How long have you been riding skateboards? I’ve been riding skateboards since I was a wee lad, however I really got into it when I was thirteen, I am seventeen now.

What are your setups? I have only one set up which I use for both downhill and freeride; Omen Spawn, 50 degree caliber trucks, and Rayne Envys/Greeds.


Where do you like to skate? Favorite spot of all time? My favorite hill has to be Giants Head, however there are always fat sessions going on in White Rock B.C., Portland Oregon, and Seattle.

How did you get on Omen? Nate Blackburn and Luke Morrow spotted me at Boomtown 5 and yelled at me to come over to them. I thought I snaked one of them or something and I was about to get chewed out, but then they asked me if I had a board sponsor.

Favorite quote? “Don’t take life too seriously, you’ll never get out of it alive”


Tragic love story? There once was a skater named blank. Well, one night, at a certain Cathlamet slide jam, blank needed a ratchet to tighten his screws. He asked a few guys around a campfire if they had one, but they didn’t. They did, however, point him towards a tent, and said “There you will find the *unnamed* Ratchet.” blank entered the tent willingly, but what happened inside, no one knows. blank emerged 20 minutes later, but something was different. He seemed emotionally scarred. What happened in that tent with *unnamed ratchet*, I wonder?


What's up with ya besides skating? Any goals for the future? When I’m not skating I’m usually at school, or snowboarding. I haven’t really thought about what I’m going to do when I’m older, and as long as I can skate and travel I don’t really care. I have started to get into painting, maybe I can design some graphics for omen in the future.
